Food Courier

Schedule

When: Saturday & Sunday 12:00-13:00 (1 hour each day)

Where: Meet at Infodesk K

Team size: 3-5 volunteers

What is the food courier task?

Help collect and deliver food orders to staff and volunteers who can’t leave their positions during lunchtime. You’ll go with a staff member to pick up orders and bring them back to people working at infodesks, video stations, and other essential roles.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of English (spoken)
• Knowledge of the ULB campus - helpful for navigation
• Physical ability - carrying food orders, walking across campus
• Reliability - people are counting on their lunch!
• Time management - deliveries need to be prompt while food is fresh

What you’ll be doing

• Collecting food orders from food trucks with a staff member
• Carrying food orders back to various locations on campus
• Delivering orders to staff and volunteers at their positions

Task workflow

1. Arrive at Infodesk K at 11:50
2. Meet with staff coordinator for food collection
3. Travel together to pick up food orders
4. Help carry food back to various locations on campus
5. Deliver to assigned locations (infodesks, video stations, etc.)
6. Confirm each person receives their correct order
7. Complete deliveries by 13:00

Safety

• Carry safely - watch for hot containers and spills
• Stay with the group - follow staff member’s lead
• Watch traffic - be aware when crossing roads
• Communicate - confirm delivery locations if unsure
• Handle food carefully - maintain food safety

What to bring

• Comfortable, practical clothing
• Sturdy closed-toe shoes (essential!)
• Personal phone - for Matrix communication if needed
