Sign Up Phase
Section titled “Sign Up Phase”- Mid December through January 2026: Sign up on volunteers.fosdem.org
- Register for the shifts of roles that interest you
- Create your volunteer profile and add your Matrix ID
January 2026
Section titled “January 2026”- Early January: Watch for more tasks being released (mainly heralding)
- Mid-January: There may be some online training sessions for volunteers and video teams - TBC
Pre-Event
Section titled “Pre-Event”-
Thursday, 29 January 2026: Van loading (17:30 - 19:30)
- Loading everything into the van for transport to the venue

Friday, 30 January 2026: Buildup (12:00 - 21:00)
- Convert the university campus into the event venue
Event Weekend
Section titled “Event Weekend”-
Saturday, 31 January 2026: FOSDEM Day 1 (09:00 - 19:00)
- Standard volunteering shifts throughout the day

Sunday, 1 February 2026: FOSDEM Day 2 (09:00 - 18:00)
- Standard volunteering shifts throughout the day
Post-Event
Section titled “Post-Event”-
Sunday evening, 1 February 2026: Cleanup (from 15:00 onwards until latest 22:00)
- Pack the conference away into the vans and restore the campus to its original state

Monday, 2 February: Van unloading (17:30 - 19:30)
- Unload the vans into the office and storage
