Emergency Procedures Overview
General Emergency Guidance
Section titled “General Emergency Guidance”Do: Stay calm, call for help, follow instructions, know your exits, communicate clearly, account for yourself at meeting points.
Don’t: Be a hero, investigate alarms, use lifts during evacuation, go back inside after evacuating, block exits.
Key Emergency Numbers

ULB Emergency Phones
Section titled “ULB Emergency Phones”The ULB has multiple emergency phones located around the campus, both inside and outside.
Indoor Phones
Section titled “Indoor Phones”These phones are generally black or dark grey, and mounted to the wall. Each of these phones will also have next to it a white plate, with information on the location of the phone and the emergency numbers to call:

Outdoor Phones
Section titled “Outdoor Phones”At some locations around campus, there are also yellow emergency call points. These can be identified as approx 2m tall yellow pillars, with the text SOS painted on them in big letters

Important Locations
Section titled “Important Locations”- Red Cross: Building K, 2nd floor (Sat-Sun 0900-1900)
- First Aid Kits: Infodesk K and Infodesk H (mainly for when the Red Cross are not available)
Before Your Shift
Section titled “Before Your Shift”Take 2 minutes to:
- Locate the nearest emergency exits in your area
- Find the nearest fire alarm call point (red box on wall)
- Identify the evacuation route to the meeting point
- Note the location of fire extinguishers (red, marked with tape)
